Te voilà enfin, après avoir attendu un an pour réaliser ton stage à Dubaï. Un rêve pour beaucoup, qui pour moi était devenu réalité… mais la réalité peut parfois se révéler tout autre. D’une ville réputée pour sa sécurité, nous avons été soudainement projetés au cœur d’un contexte de tensions au Moyen-Orient.
A week into my internship, the news broke: missiles intercepted by Emirati forces, areas hit by debris… I won’t lie at first, I felt fear and a sense of uncertainty about my safety. The Western media amplified the situation, making the atmosphere even more unsettling. Sure, we could see and hear the missiles being intercepted, and many were frightened; some even left the city. However, over time, a sense of security and trust in the government returned.
Malgré cette expérience, je reste convaincu que Dubaï demeure plus sûre que beaucoup d’autres villes que j’ai visitées. Le gouvernement prend soin de ses habitants et résidents avec un niveau de rigueur et d’organisation qui force l’admiration, surtout lorsqu’on le compare à la gestion de crises dans d’autres pays.
Malheureusement, le revers de la médaille réside dans l’impact considérable de cette crise sur le secteur touristique. Bien que nous ayons abordé ce thème dans le cadre de notre cours sur la gestion de crise, je n’aurais jamais imaginé qu’il se traduirait par des effets aussi tangibles et immédiats sur le terrain.
And I still highly recommend everyone to visit Dubai. You can network so much here and meet a lot of people. Everyone in Dubai is really driven in their work. You have growth opportunities like in no other country because Dubai is known for its fast development, innovation, and strong focus on business and ambition. It’s a place where hard work really pays off, and where you are constantly surrounded by people who are building something for their future.
For this reason, I am certain that I will also migrate to Dubai soon for my career.
Dans mon stage en sales au Al Bandar Rotana et Al Bandar Arjaan by Rotana, ils sont très solidaires, drôles, et j’ai développé un fort sentiment d’appartenance ici. Au début, j’avais peur de venir parce que je n’avais jamais travaillé dans un autre pays auparavant. Tout le monde a laissé sa famille dans son pays d’origine et est motivé à construire sa carrière aux Émirats arabes unis.
During my internship, I supported the sales team with their daily tasks and learned how a hotel deals with business clients.
Mes principales tâches consistaient à traiter les demandes des clients et à les enregistrer dans le système. I helped preparing BEO’s, quotation and offers for companies and clients. this helped me understand the importance of working precise and organised.
I was working on the client follow-up via email, helping to maintain positive client relationships and ensure timely communication. I also supported MICE activities, assisting in the organization and coordination of meetings, incentives, conferences, and events.
Cette expérience m’a beaucoup appris et a confirmé mon intérêt pour une carrière à Dubaï.
