DMC; from theory to practice.

This blog is about my internship in Montreal at the company Sentiers Privé. I will tell how it is to work for a DMC and talk about the different perks you get from doing an internship abroad.

On the 27th of February I left Belgium to go on my big Canadian adventure. A decision I haven’t regretted for a single second. Thanks to this internship I got the oppertunity to get to know myself better, to make new friends and to become a real Canadian expert!

You know that feeling of excitment when you arrive in a new country? Just knowing that in a few minutes you will get the chance to meet new people, learn about new traditions and see new landscapes,… Well for me that is the best feeling in the world. My dream is as so many of you to see the whole world and that’s why I never wanted to go to the same place. But after visting Canada I had to make an exception. Never had I felt such a strong connection to a country. So when the time came to find an internship, I took the opportunity to go back to my beloved Canada!

After the lessons of Mrs Van Leeuw I got really interested to work for a DMO. So when the Canadian DMC Sentiers Privés offered me an internship I was over the moon. Finally I got the oppertunity to bring all my knowledge from school into practice. I have been here for three months now and I can proudly say that I have already learned a lot.

Au travail je parle presque toujours le français. A cause de ça mon niveau de français a déjà considérablement amélioré. J’ai appris à préparer des devis, des livres de route, des fiches des activités. Chaque jour je fais aussi des réservations par couriel ou par téléphone. En plus d’effecteur ces tâches, j’ai surtout appris à mieux connaître le pays. Je connais maintenant toutes les régions touristiques et leurs attractions. Ce qui me permets de créer moi-même des forfaits pour des clients. Nous vendons principalement des voyages de luxe. Nos forfaits n’incluent donc que des hôtels de luxe et des transferts spectaculaires en hélicoptère ou en hydravion. Tu peux donc imaginer que je rêvasse plusiers fois par jours.

Sentiers Prives est un DMC. Alors nos clients sont des agences de voyages. Nous aidons les agences avec notre expertise locale. Grâce à nous, ils peuvent offrir à leurs clients des voyages sur mesure parfaits. En plus du travail quotidien,on fait aussi beaucoup d’autres choses amusantes. Comme par exemple des inspections de site. J’ai visité plusieurs hôtels à Montréal (Le Ritz, Le Four Seasons, Le Fairmont, Le Mount-Stephen…). On va aussi à différents événements touristiques. Ces soirées servent principalement à nouer de nouveaux contacts. De plus, il y a toujours des hors-d’oeuvre très savoureux et des gadgets sympas, ce qui est toujours agréable.

Enfin, je te recommanderais à vous tous d’entreprendre un stage à l’étranger. C’est vraiment une expérience formidable. Tu apprends à être indépendant. Tu pratiques tes langues étrangères. Tu fais connaissance avec de nouveaux amis. Tu découvres un nouveau pays. En bref, tu fais des souvenirs pour la vie!

Fáilte go hÉirinn! (Welcome to Ireland!)

In this blogpost, I would like to tell all of you about the amazing time that I am having right now, interning in the beautiful Ireland. This is already my second internship here at EazyCity Dublin, an accommodation agency (and actually so much more…) located in the heart of Dublin City.

Vorig jaar koos ik ervoor om 3 maanden te vertoeven in dit pittoreske stadje en dit jaar – voor mijn tweede stage – kwamen daar nog eens vier maanden bij. Ik bleek maar niet genoeg te krijgen van dit bedrijf en deze wondermooie hoofdstad.

Tijdens mijn eerste stage was alles zeer nieuw voor mij. Een doordeweekse dag bestond uit het beantwoorden van e-mails, het updaten van de verschillende excel-bestanden en het uitvoeren van check-ins en -outs in de verschillende accommodaties.

De klanten kwamen van overal ter wereld en dat gaf dan ook direct de kans om alle talen die we in onze opleiding geleerd hadden, toe te passen in het echte leven. Na enkele weken, voelde ik me echt thuis in mijn taken en voelde ik me ook reeds deel van de “EazyCity Family”. Het was echt een geslaagde stage!

After an emotional goodbye at the office, I went back to Belgium to finish up my third year. After a few brutal months, I passed all of my exams and – together with my thesis group – we managed to deliver our thesis on time.

During these six months in Belgium, I was still very much in contact with all my colleagues and friends in Ireland. They were all missing me and wanted me to come back so I decided, “Why not do my second internship there as well?” The company promised to give me more responsibilities and after six months, I was on the first Ryanair (*not sponsored unfortunately*) flight back to Dublin.

I was really happy to be back, surrounded by my friends and colleagues and I was enjoying the new responsibilities given to me as well. For this internship they decided to put me in charge of looking after the “Rent File” and making sure that everyone pays on time. As well as looking after some minor maintenance issues and being the point of reference for Brazilian agencies and Brazilian clients.

Ook mocht ik de nieuwe stagiaires trainen voor hun functies. Drie maanden ging dit zo voort en waren mijn dagen zeer goed gevuld. Na deze drie maanden, kwam dan het droevige (maar voor mij ook wel goede) nieuws dat de huidige Assistant Manager haar opzeg had gegeven en mij aangeraden had als haar opvolging. De volgende dag kreeg ik de email van HR dat ik mijn motivatiebrief en CV mocht doorsturen en de dag daarna had ik mijn sollicitatiegesprek.

De daaropvolgende week was zenuwslopend en plots kreeg ik een belletje dat ze mij de perfecte kandidaat vonden voor de job en dat, na mijn stageperiode, mijn contract direct kon beginnen. Ik was zeer vereerd en blij met deze kans en heb deze dan ook meteen aangenomen.

The day after, my training to become the next Assistant Manager started. I find these new responsibilities and tasks very fascinating and I’m really happy that I can stay in Dublin longer than expected.

As from next week, I can officially call myself the new Assistant Branch Manager of EazyCity Dublin and I’m truly grateful to the Erasmushogeschool for giving me the opportunity of doing TWO internships here and giving me all the skills needed to succeed in this new challenge. Thereby giving me a big head start career wise.

Een kijkje bij Wegwijzer

Een kijkje bij Wegwijzer. Een blogbericht over de taken, mijn ervaringen en de collega’s.

Mijn stagementor en ik tijdens een zot momentje op het werk.

Toen ik hoorde dat de stage 4 maand zou duren stond ik met mij mond vol tanden. Zo lang? Wat als ik de taken niet leuk vind? Of als de plek me niet aanstaat? Of wat als de stagementor een slavendrijver is? Dan moet ik dat ‘zo lang’ volhouden? Gelukkig, na een stage van 3 maanden en 2 weken te hebben afgelegd, kan ik zeker niet klagen! De taken vielen meestal wel goed mee. Daarnaast is Wegwijzer een plek met een zeer losse sfeer en toffe collega’s. En of mijn stagementor een slavendrijver is? Helemaal niet! Natuurlijk moesten de opdrachten op tijd af, maar hij gaf me hier voldoende tijd voor en hielp me waar nodig. De tijd heeft gevlogen en ik kan niet geloven dat ik nog maar 2 weken te gaan heb.

Tijdens mijn stage heb ik veel bijgeleerd door de verscheidenheid aan taken. Zo heb ik het dossier reisverzekeringen bestudeerd, geüpdatet en vragen en mails rond dit onderwerp beantwoord. Daarbij heb ik het dossier fietsverzekeringen zelf geschreven. Een document van 65 pagina’s (bronnen ingerekend) waaraan ik veel tijd gespendeerd heb. Ook heb ik tijdschriften aangepast in de CMS, informaten gezocht voor de avond ‘Lang op reis’, winnaars helpen kiezen voor de wedstrijd ‘reisverslagen’, blogs gezocht voor toe te voegen aan de website en administratief werk gedaan.

The tasks that I liked the most were the ones around the info evening ‘Veilig Reizen’ in Ronse on the 18^th of June. Hereby I had to delve into the subject, make a PowerPoint, answer questions to prepare us for the evening and of course be present at the info evening.

Wegwijzer has a team of 5 people. Hereby I work especially under Filip, my mentor, but sometimes also under other colleagues for smaller tasks. When I started my internship there were also 2 other interns, very nice people! The first one left me already after a month, the other one had her last day on the 12^th of June. Later I was accompanied by the volunteers. Most days of the week they gave me some company.

Like my mentor says it, Wegwijzer is a ‘strange place’. Not because the colleagues are weird, but because of the relaxed atmosphere. Everyone is smiling and making fun all the time. Like that it is logic that these 4 months passed so quickly.

The Dublinner

In deze blog vertel ik jullie over mijn ervaringen die ik tijdens een 4 maand lange stage heb beleefd. Ik heb een stage gedaan bij Eazycity in Dublin. In een klein kantoor gelegen in het centrum van de stad vlakbij Trinity College. Eazycity heeft doorheen de wereld (en natuurlijk ook Ierland) verschillende kantoren.

After a short flight from Brussels I arrived in Dublin. I noticed that the air quality is a lot better there then in Belgium. Most likely due to the heavy winds and being located on an island (in the middle of nowhere). People also decided to drive on the ‘wrong side of the road’ which took some time getting used to.

De eerste dag kwam ik toe op het kantoor en was er een warme welkom. Het kantoor zat vol met Italianen, Brazilianen en enkele Fransen. Kort nadien ging ik rond met één van de Franse collega’s om zowel Dublin als de panden te ontdekken (Eazycity Dublin had op dat moment 26 verschillende panden doorheen Dublin). In de eerste week had ik al 12 verschillende huizen bezocht. Ikzelf verbleef ook in één van deze huizen.

They showed me how they do check-in and check-outs. I also got familiar with the system, how to register and make the payments for the clients. In the first few weeks I send emails in English and French, I had check-ins and I also had to do numerous taxi transfers. Sadly, sometimes it was required to work in the weekends.

After only 2 weeks the property manager left the company and we were kind of without anyone responsible for the properties. So I proposed I could look into some of the tasks the property manager was responsible for.

De eerste ‘managing’ taak die ze me gaven was de verantwoordelijkheid voor het aangeven van de gas- en elektriciteitsmeters van de huizen. Waarbij ik voor hen een document heb gemaakt zodat ze duidelijker kunnen aangeven wanneer ze de lezingen moeten doorgeven. Nadien begon ik mij meer bezig te houden met het onderhoud van de huizen, zoals gebroken voorwerpen of missende voorwerpen te verplaatsen.

During my internship there were interns who stayed for less than a month. I was tasked with making sure they are doing something useful, so I send them out getting the meter readings from the houses, bringing bedlinen to prepare the beds for new check-ins, etc.

I also received a few different tasks to improve the office’s functionality. So I began the construction of a key wall. Before I arrived there all the keys were in small boxes. It was very unorganised and we didn’t really know how many sets we had in the boxes for each room. So with the help of Loris (old student and now assistant manager)who helped me make the construction plan and some of the short term interns I began the construction of the key wall. It took around 2 weeks of hard work to get it up and running but in the end it was worth it.

Ook al was de stage niet altijd even interessant heb ik er toch van genoten. Voor mensen die geïnteresseerd zijn om in contact komen met verschillende nationaliteiten en veel verschillende talen te praten is het toch een goede ervaring. Tijdens de stage had ik ook tijd om Ierland te ontdekken en dit was zeker de moeite waard met al zijn prachtige natuur. Door de stage ben ik ook zelfstandiger geworden en het was een goede voorbereiding op het latere ‘alleen te wonen’.

My intercultural adventure

Werken en tegelijkertijd genieten, het blijft voor velen een droom, maar voor mij werd dit tijdens mijn stage werkelijkheid. Hierna volgt een blik op mijn stage in de ViaVia in het tropische Indonesië.

Met deze post wil ik jullie een blik geven in mijn werk in de ViaVia in Jogjakarta, Indonesië. Kort geef ik jullie eerst een woordje uitleg over deze organisatie. ViaVia is voor het eerst opgericht in Heverlee in België. ViaVia’s zijn ontmoetingsplaatsen en bestaan momenteel op 16 plaatsen over de hele wereld. Het zijn plaatsen die een deel willen uitmaken van een open, eerlijkere wereld waar people, planet & profit in evenwicht zijn. Het zijn plaatsen waar dialoog gecreërd wordt over cultuur, natuur en maatschappij en waar er ruimte is om bij te leren van elkaar. Duurzaamheid en interculturaliteit zijn prioriteiten in de verschillende ViaVia’s.

De ViaVia in Yogyakarta is de meest uitgebreide en heeft een guesthouse, restaurant, fair trade shop, reisbureau en zelfs een bakkerij. In mijn eerste twee weken mocht ik in elk departement van de ViaVia werken en mocht ik zelfs meehelpen in de keuken en de bakkerij om het gehele systeem te leren kennen.

My work in Viavia currently consists of carrying out a project for the fair trade shop. I design a new book about all the suppliers and artists in the shop. The intention is that tourists who visit our shop can read about the products they buy. In this way, the products become more appealing to tourists because they can learn about the origin of the product that they want to buy. I am currently visiting different suppliers with a colleague. I interview them and take pictures during the production process. After our visit, I edit the pictures and work out texts about the people we have met. Then, I upload these on dropbox. We will also use these texts to create a QR-system throughout our shop. Tourists will be able to scan the QR-code of each product and like this, they can easily read everything about their product online.

After this project, I’ll also work together with the travel agency of ViaVia. I’ll help to create new tours about the suppliers that I have been visiting. Every product has its own story and it can be interesting for tourists to visit the places where their souvenir was made.

This working experience has been eye-opening for me and gave me new insights into what working in Indonesia is like. When this Internship is finished, I surely go back to Belgium as a changed person. I adapted to the culture in Indonesia and it made me a true world citizen.

Le Jardin des Mondes

Aujourd’hui je vous invite à découvrir le meilleur parc zoologique d’Europe, qui a obtenu ce titre pour la deuxième année consécutive grâce au jury des Diamond ThemePark Awards! À travers ces quelques mots je vais vous faire découvrir mon train-train quotidien derrière les coulisses de Pairi Daiza. Peut-être qu’après ceci vous voudrez vous-même faire partie de cette grande famille… Pour commencer je vous présente un de nos grands bébés du parc, notre mascotte adorée Tian Bao, né à Pairi Daiza il y a déjà presque trois ans!

Mijn stage bij Pairi Daiza begon op 3 maart 2019 en duurt tot 21 juni 2019, wat erop neerkomt dat ik nu al over de helft zit en ja, de tijd vliegt voorbij… Het departement waarbinnen ik als stagiaire werk is die van de Sales & Events, bestaande uit een team van drie werknemers. Vanaf de eerste dag werd ik er al met open armen ontvangen door mijn verantwoordelijke Ann en mijn twee andere collega’s Madison en Nicolas. Elk jaar werken zij met nieuwe stagiaires en ook dit jaar was het groepje volledig. De twee andere stagiaires heten, Victoria en Gwenn.

Binnen dit departement organiseren wij evenementen in Pairi Daiza voor bedrijven. De stagiaires worden meegenomen doorheen het volledige proces. We beginnen met het in contact komen met de klant, tot de verwezenlijking van het evenement. Ons takenpakket is dus zeer ruim en elke dag is anders. Het kan best zijn dat je een ganse dag in het bureau offertes en bevestigingen zit op te maken, maar de volgende dag kun je dan opeens de hele tijd door het park lopen om te helpen met de realisatie van het evenement.

Wanneer de grote dag aanbreekt waarop het evenement plaatsvindt dan staan wij klaar om hen te verwelkomen. De eerste keer dat ik deelnam aan de organisatie kan ik illustreren aan de hand van onderstaande afbeelding. Het gaat om één van onze onthaaldesks, gelegen aan de ingang van Pairi Daiza. Voor mij staan deze hutjes voor de meerwaarde die wij bieden als organisator en het is de manier waarop wij ons onderscheiden van de concurrentie.

Après l’effort, le réconfort. Pas tous les jours sont aussi faciles et l’on ne sait jamais de quoi sera fait demain. À Pairi Daiza ça arrive qu’on ait du stress parce qu’un gros événement arrive à grands pas ou bien parce qu’il y a un problème qui peut faire tout basculer dans notre organisation… Malgré tout on se rend compte qu’on a une chance inouïe de pouvoir travailler dans un décor aussi magique! Ann l’a bien compris que si on décide de venir faire notre stage à Pairi Daiza c’est qu’on est forcément un ami des animaux. Pour cela elle sait comment nous gâter… Et oui, il arrive qu’elle nous fasse une petite surprise comme vous pouvez le voir ci-dessous. Tout ceci pour vous dire que faire un stage dans ce parc vous le coup du détour et que pour ma part c’est une expérience unique en son genre.

Your incentive and business travel partner.

Dat is ze, de slogan van het bedrijf waar ik mijn stage doe. In dit blogbericht zal ik jullie vertellen hoe een dag als stagiaire bij Belgian Air Travel te Etterbeek er uit ziet en uit wat mijn takenpakket allemaal bestaat.

The place where I do my internship is Belgian Air Travel, it is a travel agency that focuses primarily on incentive travel. Including me, there are 7 people working in this office. 5 People are spread over 2 main departments, ticketing and the group & incentive managers. Then we also have the general manager and the accountant. My tasks are within the group and incentive department. Most contact with the customer is therefor by telephone or by e-mail. I arrive at the office around 8.30 AM, and my workday ends at 5.30 PM. except on Friday, then we stop an hour earlier.

De ene dag is zeker de andere niet, nu ik stilaan op het einde van mijn stage kom begin ik dit duidelijk op te merken. Zo werd ik gedurende de eerste weken al direct zelfstandig aan het werk gezet en was ik constant bezig met bijvoorbeeld facturen maken, reisprogramma’s maken of aanpassen, hotelkamers boeken, aanvragen doen bij restaurants en hotels, … De dagen vlogen toen echt voorbij. Het was toen een drukke periode voor het reiskantoor dus ik kon altijd wel ergens bijspringen.

Ook vond ik het op dat moment een heel leerrijke stage, omdat ik verschillende dingen die we reeds leerden op school, eindelijk eens kon omzetten naar de praktijk. Ik kreeg zelf de kans om met verschillende programma’s te werken en om eens mee te kijken op verschillende diensten zodat ik kon zien hoe hun werkdag er uit ziet.

Now I’m in the last week of my internship and I honestly can’t wait till it’s over. Don’t get me wrong, I remain convinced that this internship was an educational experience. But during the last three weeks, it was no longer busy. This means there wasn’t a lot of work to do. There were days where I had nothing to do, so I filled these days with working for school, chatting with my colleague and looking at the clock every five minutes. This summer, I will do a three-week vacation job here. I hope there will be some work by then, but it will be low season in the office. So, I’m very curious to see what will happen…

4 miesiące w muzeum

W tym blogu opowiem o moim czasie w Krakowie . Pracowałam 4 miesiące w Muzeum Żydowskim Galicia na Kazimierzu. Jest ciekawe muzeum o życiu i historii Żydów w Galicji (to region w Polsce w osiemnastym wieku).

Bardo kochałam mieszkać w Krakowie , bo jest bardzo fajnym miastem. Zawsze ma coś przyjemnego do zrobienia. Miasto nie jest za duże i nie za małe. Ma wszystkie plusy dużego miasta, ale ma dobrą atmosferę. Polecam wszystkim zwiedzanie tego miasta.

Podczas mojego stażu zrobiłam wycieczkę po wystawie czasowej i stałej. To było bardzo ciekawę, bo miałam czas i szansę zrobić badania o Drugiej Wojnie Światowej i Holocauście. Robiłam też warsztaty, gdzie rozmawialiśmy o decuzjach ludzi musieli podejmować w tym czasie. Ponadto pracowałam na recepcji: sprzedałam bilety, pomagałam ludziom, witałam grupy,…

Napisałam pierwszą cześć bloga po polsku, bo poczas mojego pobytu w Krakowie studiowałam język polski, ale teraz będę pisać po niderlandzku żebyś zrozumiała , co pisałam.

In het algemeen denk ik wel dat je geïnteresseerd moet zijn in het onderwerp van het museum als je hier stage wilt lopen. Je bent toch de hele tijd bezig met de Holocaust en de Tweede Wereldoorlog, wat geen lichte onderwerpen zijn. Verder denk ik wel dat deze stageplaats veel voordelen biedt.

Buiten wonen in een gezellige cultuurstad als Krakau krijg je ook de kans om te werken in een internationale omgeving. Je komt in een team van stagiaires terecht die afkomstig zijn uit de hele wereld, ook interessant voor je toekomstige reizen dus.

De werklast valt ook mee, je hebt geen vaste uren waardoor je heel flexibel kan werken en de shiften zijn niet zo lang. Het museum is niet zo groot waardoor er een heel gemoedelijke sfeer hangt. Iedereen is super vriendelijk en je voelt je echt deel van het team. Hierdoor is ook kennis van het Pools niet echt noodzakelijk, er is altijd iemand in de buurt om je verder te helpen als je een bezoeker niet begrijpt.

Ik raad iedereen zeker aan om voor deze stageplaats te kiezen omdat ik ervan ben overtuigd dat ze jullie aangenaam gaat verassen.

Auf der Suche nach jüdischer Kultur und Geschichte im polnischen Galizien

Was habe ich für vier wunderschöne Monate gehabt! In diesem Blogpost fliegen wir nach Osten, in das Land von Wodka und Zapiekanka, von Kopernikus und Papst Johannes Paul II., Von Bernstein und Blumenkränzen. Vielleicht haben Sie es erraten: ich habe mein Praktikum in Polen gemacht, in Krakau, um genau zu sein. Was wir jedoch nicht unmittelbar mit diesem Land verbinden, ist das Judentum. Mit einem gesunden Interesse an Geschichte, Kultur und Osteuropa fiel meine Wahl schnell auf das Jüdisches Museum Galizien. Im Folgenden erzähle ich Ihnen mehr über meine Zeit als Praktikantin.

Meine letzte Führung im Museum… ich werde es hier vermissen!

Moim głównym zdaniem jako praktykanta jest oprowadzanie grup szkolnych po muzeum. Podczas oprowadzania uczniowie uczą się nie tylko o Holokauście. Katastrofa, którą był Holokaust nie oznacza początku, ani końca żydowskiej historii i kultury. Żydzi już w średniowieczu byli zachęcani do osiedlania się w Polsce, między innymi poprzez uzyskanie prawa do samorządności i wolności religijnej. W XVI wieku Polska stała się ważnym ośrodkiem żydowskiego życia i centrum wiedzy o tej religii. Na początku XX wieku Polska społeczność żydowska była największa na świecie. Nawet dzisiaj następuje ożywienie kulturowe poprzez centra kulturowe, atrakcje turystyczne, festiwale, badania naukowe itp.

Der Holocaust sollte jedoch niemals vergessen werden. Das Museum lädt deshalb Menschen ein, die diese schrecklichen Zeiten überlebt haben. Es ist die letzte Generation von Überlebenden, die uns mehr über die miserablen Umstände, unter denen sie in den Konzentrationslagern und im Ghetto lebten, und über den Wiederaufbau ihres Lebens nach dem Holocaust erzählen kann. Es ist unsere Aufgabe als Praktikanten, den Schülern weitere Informationen zu diesen Ereignissen zu geben.

Drugą funkcją, którą wykonuję jest praca w charakterze recepcjonistki. Ta praca wymaga nie tylko przyjmowania gości i wydawania im biletów na wystawy. Jako recepcjonistka pełnię także funkcję punktu informacyjnego dla przechodniów, pomagam odwiedzającym odnaleźć dorgę w Krakowie i przekazuje im więcej informacji o mieście. Ponadto kieruje grupy przychodzące do muzeum we właściwe miejsce, utrzymuje kontakt z innymi działami muzeum i przechowuje dane finansowe. Wreszcie, wraz z moimi kolegami, organizuję również wydarzenia takie jak „Slow Art Day” czy gry miejskiej jak „Discovering Jewish Life”.

Besonders lehrreich war nicht nur das Praktikum, sondern auch alle damit verbundenen Aktivitäten. Ich habe zum Beispiel das jüdische Erbe im polnischen Galizien durch die sogenannte Shtetl Tour (ein Tagesausflug) kennengelernt. Darüber hinaus habe ich genügend Freizeit gehabt, um Krakau und seine Umgebung zu erkunden.

I got the opportunity to do my internship at one of the best airlines in the world: Emirates! I have always been passionated by aviation, after working at the airport for 5 years and doing my previous internship at the airport aswell, I decided it was time for something new! That’s why I applied for an internship at the Sales & Marketing department of Emirates BeLux.

At first, I thought it would be a boring internship where they would give me the most boring tasks like copying documents and classifying them. Thankfully, they proved me wrong after the first week.

Ik voelde mij meteen thuis, alsof ik een vaste medewerker was en dat is ook hoe ze mij zagen. Mijn mening telde en mijn werk ook! Je maakt alle meetings mee en al jouw ideeën zijn welkom en worden door de collega’s met open armen verwelkomd.

Daarnaast mocht ik ook deelnemen aan een reclamestunt in samenwerking met Standard de Liège. Dat was toch wel het hoogtepunt van mijn stage. Wij hebben de hele dag polaroids getrokken van families met de Emirates mascottes (waar mijn geliefde Sales collega’s in zaten) en vooral veel gelachen en gepraat. Daarna hebben wij ook de kans gehad om met de spelers van Standard te spreken aangezien zij aan ons standje een signeersessie hebben gedaan. Het was heel tof om mijn collega’s op die manier te zien i.p.v. in de zakelijke context! Deze dag heeft mijn band met hen net iets meer versterkt.

Not only did this internship improve my English, communication and interpersonal skills even more, it also gave me a business mindset. Everything is about business and you always have to think about the possible benefits for the company! This is definitely something important I learned from my internship. Everything you do, brings money! It’s (mostly) all about that cash!

I am really glad I grabbed this opportunity to work at such a big company with both hands and I would do it again if I could!
