Looking for an internship where no two days are the same? During my internship at Beursschouwburg in Brussels, I discovered what happens behind the scenes of a cultural venue and how important teamwork is in making events run smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quand j’ai commenc\u00e9 mon stage \u00e0 la Beursschouwburg, je ne savais pas exactement \u00e0 quoi m’attendre. Tr\u00e8s vite, j’ai compris que travailler dans un centre culturel est beaucoup plus vari\u00e9 qu’on ne l’imagine. Chaque \u00e9v\u00e9nement est diff\u00e9rent et demande une bonne organisation ainsi qu’une grande capacit\u00e9 d’adaptation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the things I enjoyed most was being involved in the practical side of events. Whether it was helping with preparations, supporting the team during activities or making sure everything was running smoothly, I could see how every small task contributed to the visitor experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J’ai \u00e9galement appris \u00e0 travailler dans un environnement dynamique o\u00f9 il faut parfois r\u00e9agir rapidement aux changements. Cette exp\u00e9rience m’a permis de d\u00e9velopper mon autonomie, mon sens des responsabilit\u00e9s et ma capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler sous pression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One moment that I will never forget happened just before a performance. An artist needed assistance putting on her costume before going on stage. Since the costume was an important part of the artistic concept and left very little covered, it was definitely an unexpected situation for me as an intern. At first, I felt a bit uncomfortable, but I quickly realised that professionalism is essential in the cultural sector. My role was simply to help the artist feel ready for her performance and make sure everything could start on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette exp\u00e9rience m’a montr\u00e9 que travailler dans le secteur culturel signifie parfois sortir de sa zone de confort. Chaque journ\u00e9e peut apporter son lot de surprises, mais c’est aussi ce qui rend ce travail si int\u00e9ressant. J’ai appris \u00e0 rester professionnel dans toutes les situations et \u00e0 m’adapter aux besoins des artistes et du publique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes Beursschouwburg special is its creative atmosphere. You are surrounded by people who are passionate about theatre, art and music. As a TRM student, it is interesting to see how concepts from our courses are applied in a real professional setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La diversit\u00e9 du public et des \u00e9v\u00e9nements est \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s enrichissante. Travailler \u00e0 Bruxelles signifie \u00eatre en contact avec des personnes de diff\u00e9rentes cultures et origines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, this internship was a great opportunity to gain practical experience and discover another side of the tourism, recreation and events sector. It showed me that a successful event depends on much more than what visitors see on the day itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What the audience sees is only half the story. Behind the curtain, an entirely different world comes to life and my internship at Beursschouwburg gave me a front-row seat.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
