When people think about travelling, they often imagine the exciting part: choosing a destination, booking a trip and counting down to departure. But what happens behind the scenes before a journey actually starts? Since the beginning of March, I have had the opportunity to discover exactly that during my internship at Joker, within the individual travel department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting this internship was something I had really been looking forward to. It was the first time that I could experience what happens on the operational side of tourism instead of only seeing the final result as a traveller. I have always appreciated Joker as a tour operator because of its values and travel philosophy, so getting the chance to be part of the team felt very special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce qui m\u2019a le plus marqu\u00e9 pendant ce stage, c\u2019est l\u2019ambiance dans l\u2019entreprise. D\u00e8s le premier jour, j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 accueillie dans une \u00e9quipe enthousiaste o\u00f9 tout le monde \u00e9tait pr\u00eat \u00e0 aider et \u00e0 partager ses connaissances. M\u00eame si j\u2019\u00e9tais stagiaire, je me suis sentie impliqu\u00e9e dans les activit\u00e9s quotidiennes et prise au s\u00e9rieux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pendant mon stage, j\u2019ai pu participer \u00e0 diff\u00e9rentes t\u00e2ches et d\u00e9couvrir de nombreux aspects du travail dans le tourisme. J\u2019ai \u00e9galement eu l\u2019occasion d\u2019assister \u00e0 plusieurs r\u00e9unions : des r\u00e9unions d\u2019\u00e9quipe mais aussi des r\u00e9unions concernant de nouveaux projets et lancements. Au d\u00e9but, il fallait un peu de temps pour comprendre tous les processus, mais apr\u00e8s quelques semaines j\u2019ai trouv\u00e9 mon rythme et je me suis sentie beaucoup plus \u00e0 l\u2019aise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another thing that made this experience memorable was working together with other interns from different schools. We supported each other whenever something was unclear and sometimes worked together on different assignments. It created a motivating and positive atmosphere where everyone could learn from one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au bureau, j\u2019ai aussi d\u00e9couvert une culture d\u2019entreprise que j\u2019ai beaucoup appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e. Peu importe l\u2019anciennet\u00e9 ou la fonction de chacun, l\u2019ambiance reste ouverte, respectueuse et assez informelle. Cette mani\u00e8re de travailler rend les \u00e9changes plus faciles et cr\u00e9e un environnement agr\u00e9able au quotidien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I found most interesting was finally seeing how much work happens before travellers actually leave on holiday. I already had experience in sales, but discovering everything that happens behind the scenes gave me a completely different perspective. Creating trips, coordinating information and making sure everything runs smoothly requires much more teamwork and preparation than people usually think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce stage a renforc\u00e9 encore davantage mon int\u00e9r\u00eat pour le secteur du tourisme et m\u2019a permis de d\u00e9couvrir une nouvelle facette de ce domaine. J\u2019ai compris que derri\u00e8re chaque voyage se cache \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de pr\u00e9paration, de coordination et de travail d\u2019\u00e9quipe. Finalement, les plus beaux voyages ne commencent pas seulement au moment du d\u00e9part, mais bien en coulisses, longtemps avant que le voyageur fasse ses valises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
