I moved to Uganda. Alone. \u2018Why?\u2019 you may ask. Because I believe real growth and learning only happen when you step beyond what feels safe. The easy choice rarely teaches you anything. That said, it\u2019s not for the weak \ud83d\ude09<br><br>\u201cMzungu\u201d est le premier mot que j\u2019ai appris ici. Cela signifie \u2018personne blanche\u2019. Il faut \u00eatre pr\u00e9par\u00e9: en marchant dans la rue, les locaux te pointent du doigt et crient \u201cMzungu !\u201d. Tu re\u00e7ois \u00e9norm\u00e9ment d\u2019attention. Si tu as toujours voulu savoir ce que \u00e7a fait d\u2019\u00eatre c\u00e9l\u00e8bre, viens en Ouganda. Ce n\u2019est pas ma partie pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9e, mais c\u2019est quelque chose qu\u2019il faut accepter.<br><br>\u201cBanange!\u201d is a word I hear constantly at the office. It loosely translates to something like \u201cthis is not easy\u201d or \u201coh man.\u201d This one word reveals a lot about the culture: it\u2019s highly relationship-oriented, indirect in communication, and generally more laid-back when it comes to work. Besides working as an event coordinator, I thus also try to bring structure into the daily chaos at ViaVia by creating an event manual and an AI-based reporting system.<br><br>\u201cMatoke\u201d est un plat traditionnel ougandais. C\u2019est vraiment similaire \u00e0 de la pur\u00e9e de pommes de terre, mais avec des bananes. On en mange presque tous les jours comme repas du personnel.
