Cette semaine de stage m\u2019a permis de mieux comprendre le fonctionnement du secteur \u00e9v\u00e9nementiel. Chez Funkey, chaque journ\u00e9e combine organisation, communication et collaboration. In this blogpost, I explain what my job as an intern looks like and how I gradually take on more responsibility, especially in event coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le d\u00e9but de la semaine : organisation et structure<\/strong>
Le lundi commence par la gestion des e-mails, une t\u00e2che essentielle pour garder une vue d\u2019ensemble sur les demandes entrantes. Je cr\u00e9e \u00e9galement des offres personnalis\u00e9es et j\u2019envoie des availability requests aux partenaires. Pendant la weekly sales meeting, j\u2019ai appris comment l\u2019\u00e9quipe fixe ses priorit\u00e9s. La visite du Mentalist Piet a montr\u00e9 comment une animation bien choisie peut renforcer l\u2019impact d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Midweek: teamwork and precision<\/strong>
On Tuesday and during the rest of the week, collaboration played a central role. I attended the Smallie Council meetings, where ideas are shared and decisions are made together. Besides that, I followed up on the info@funkey.be<\/a> mailbox and continued working on quotes. These tasks taught me to work precisely and professionally, while always respecting client privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vendredi : une immersion plus profonde dans la coordination<\/strong>
Le vendredi a clairement marqu\u00e9 un tournant dans ma semaine de stage. J\u2019ai eu l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de participer plus activement \u00e0 la pr\u00e9paration d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement incluant de la coordination. Cela impliquait de v\u00e9rifier le d\u00e9roulement du programme, d\u2019analyser le timing et de m\u2019assurer que tous les partenaires disposaient des bonnes informations. J\u2019ai compris que la coordination commence bien avant le jour de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

J\u2019ai \u00e9galement appris que le r\u00f4le du coordinateur consiste \u00e0 anticiper les probl\u00e8mes et \u00e0 rester flexible. Even small details, such as timing changes or unclear instructions, can have a big impact on the overall flow of an event. This made me realize how important overview and clear communication are in this role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Event coordination in practice: \u201cBuild a Bike for Africa\u201d<\/strong>
One of the coordinated activities was Build a Bike for Africa<\/em>. Teams start with only a bike frame and tools. Through strategic thinking, negotiation and brain teasers, they earn bike parts and accessories. While some participants assemble the bike, others solve challenges to support the team. At the end, the bikes are tested and celebrated during a final lap. The activity also supports a good cause, as each team contributes to donating a bike to projects in Africa. In the end, everyone is a winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette semaine m\u2019a montr\u00e9 que l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nementiel demande bien plus que de la cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9. It requires responsibility, structure and strong communication skills. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette immersion dans la coordination, je me sens de plus en plus impliqu\u00e9e dans l\u2019\u00e9quipe, ce qui rend mon stage \u00e0 la fois formateur et motivant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
