I did my internship for 16 weeks at tour operator Intersoc in Schaarbeek. For most people, when they hear Intersoc, they think of the trips and hotels they offer in Switzerland and Austria, but this is not all. In addition to the hotels they offer, the company also organizes a hundred group trips for a diverse audience. These are culture, cycling, hiking and camping trips all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this final assignment you can use your own imagination and choose how you want to plan your trip. Destination, type of trip, duration, you can choose it yourself. I had chosen a walking tour along the West Highland Way in Scotland. For this I have to make a script and a price calculation, with the intention that they can use this as a trip in the following years and present it to their audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An extra that the company also offers, but this is only in case you go to the interview with them on time (which was not the case with me). You can then get the chance to work in one of their 5 hotels as a worker behind the reception or in the restaurant for a few weeks during your internship period outside of office work. This way you not only have the experience at Intersoc to transform yourself into a tour operator, but you can also have the chance to actively work on the work floor in one of their hotels.
