The sharp tone of my alarm clock echoes loudly through my room. I am still tired, but fortunately that tiredness is quickly replaced by excitement for today’s photo shoot. On the agenda are a number of renovated museums, visitor centres and important locations from which photo material needs to be collected. It is the first of a series of eight that I was assigned at the beginning of my internship and, given the short preparation time, also one of the most nerve-wracking. In a two-week period, I had to make the necessary arrangements with the photographer, contact the shooting locations, find enough extras and draw up a detailed script to make the day run as smoothly as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9:30 Sint-Leonarduskerk, Zoutleeuw<\/strong>
Dit monumentaal gotisch gebouw is een van de meest imposante bezienswaardigheden in het Hageland. Sinds het einde van de volledige restauratie is de kerk, met haar indrukwekkend kunstpatrimonium, weer in al haar glorie te bewonderen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10:30 Provinciedomein Het Vinne, Zoutleeuw<\/strong>
Het grootste natuurlijke binnenmeer van Vlaanderen werd onlangs leeggepompt, schoongemaakt en weer gevuld. Deze natuurparel, inclusief de prachtige nieuwe kijkhut, kon dus niet ontbreken op deze fotoshoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13:10 M-Museum, Leuven<\/strong>
The presence of several classes made this photo shoot a real challenge. Fortunately, we still managed to take some nice pictures, both inside and outside the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n

14:15 Saint Peter’s Church, Leuven<\/strong>
In 2020, the restoration work on the church was completed after 35 years. You can now visit the church and its art treasures using an iPad and hololens that will interactively provide information, guide and entertain you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14:55 Resto Caf\u00e9 Agora, Leuven<\/strong>
De opdracht was een foto te nemen van op een zonnig terrasje op de Grote Markt met het gotische stadhuis op de achtergrond. Het personeel van Agora ontving ons met open armen en onze figuranten waren alvast heel blij even het nuttige aan het aangename te kunnen koppelen<\/p>\n\n\n

Het Huis van de Tafeldruif werd in 2021 volledig vernieuwd. Onze jonge enthousiaste figurantjes testten alvast met veel plezier het familieboekje uit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back home! After a day like today, we have gained about a hundred photos, a few new connections and at least 30 000 steps. I can hardly feel my legs, but it is mainly a feeling of satisfaction and pride that prevails!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voil\u00e0, ik hoop dat jullie een beter beeld kunnen vormen over de organisatie en het verloop van een fotoshoot! Ondertussen trok ik nog een aantal keer dwars door Vlaams-Brabant om de meest fotowaardige hotspots van de provincie op te zoeken. Ik hoop dan ook dat jullie na het lezen van mijn blogberichten zin hebben gekregen om hetzelfde te doen! In my first blog, you could already read about my experiences as an intern at Toerisme Vlaams-Brabant. Besides my tasks for Iedereen Toerist, I was also assigned some important tasks at the Infocel, including organising some photo shoots. The photos can be used in publications, newsletters, on social media, etc. to promote Flemish Brabant, its cities and municipalities.
