Stage lopen ten tijde van een pandemie, het is niet evident. Velen onder ons snakten naar het verre buitenland maar…you take what you get and you don’t get upset. In dit blogbericht neem ik je mee doorheen mijn stage avontuur bij Travelbase.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maart 2021, \u2018Queen C\u2019 dacht er nog belange niet aan om haar koffers te pakken. Het werd spannend afwachten hoe de zomer van 2021 er zou uitzien. Nog spannender was dat ik in maart 2021 mijn stage bij Travelbase zou beginnen. De vraag waarmee ik in het begin van de stage zat was \u2018Welke travel agency slaagt er nu in om reizen te verkopen tijdens een pandemie?\u2019. Het antwoord was \u2018Travelbase\u2019: alle trips zijn zo goed als uitverkocht, ONGELOFELIJK\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happens in the urban jungle office in Ghent?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The fancy Basecamp office in Ghent was where I started my first day. When I say fancy, I mean an office in an industrial and urban jungle style with a stand-up desk, meeting pods and huge rose windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During my first days I may have been a bit insecure and shy, as usual. But this seemed to change quickly as I had the most welcoming and supportive coach of the office. Esteban (my coach) or the \u2018dad of marketing\u2019 taught me the tricks of the trade. In less than a month I gained amazing insights on how using social media can increase the success of your brand. You may think it is ridiculous to use social media as a marketing tool but believe me, it works wonders. In less than 3 months we gained more than 2,5K followers by posting on a regular basis. We experimented with editing videos for platforms such as Instagram Reels and TikTok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life of a content writer<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

In addition to using socials as a very strong marketing tool, I was also responsible for writing the Travelbase Magazine. This is a travel brochure, but as that sounds too outdated, we call it a magazine. This was a great amount of work because there are a lot of new projects. Afterall, I had a lot of fun making it, as I love writing and as we have fantastic pictures of our own to implement in the magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My unique experience<\/strong><\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Bij Travelbase draait alles rond \u2018the experience\u2019, en zo was deel uitmaken van dit fantastisch team ook een hele ervaring. Ik werd direct met open armen ontvangen net zoals alle andere studenten die hier stage deden. Als stagiaire maak je zoals de andere werknemers deel uit van het hecht team dat nooit nee zegt tegen een leuke teambuilding of een gezellige middagpauze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there would be one lifechanging thing that I will always take with me from Travelbase, it would be that it\u2019s all about the journey, not the destination. My internship was a journey full of ups, downs and mostly a journey with a lot of learning paths. I often compare life with a life long journey, and as learning how to live takes a whole life, you better make it a nice journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
