On the 27th of February I left Belgium to go on my big Canadian adventure. A decision I haven’t regretted for a single second. Thanks to this internship I got the oppertunity to get to know myself better, to make new friends and to become a real Canadian expert!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You know that feeling of excitment when you arrive in a new country? Just knowing that in a few minutes you will get the chance to meet new people, learn about new traditions and see new landscapes,… Well for me that is the best feeling in the world. My dream is as so many of you to see the whole world and that’s why I never wanted to go to the same place. But after visting Canada I had to make an exception. Never had I felt such a strong connection to a country. So when the time came to find an internship, I took the opportunity to go back to my beloved Canada!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the lessons of Mrs Van Leeuw I got really interested to work for a DMO. So when the Canadian DMC Sentiers Priv\u00e9s offered me an internship I was over the moon. Finally I got the oppertunity to bring all my knowledge from school into practice. I have been here for three months now and I can proudly say that I have already learned a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au travail je parle presque toujours le fran\u00e7ais. A cause de \u00e7a mon niveau de fran\u00e7ais a d\u00e9j\u00e0 consid\u00e9rablement am\u00e9lior\u00e9. J’ai appris \u00e0 pr\u00e9parer des devis, des livres de route, des fiches des activit\u00e9s. Chaque jour je fais aussi des r\u00e9servations par couriel ou par t\u00e9l\u00e9phone. En plus d’effecteur ces t\u00e2ches, j’ai surtout appris \u00e0 mieux conna\u00eetre le pays. Je connais maintenant toutes les r\u00e9gions touristiques et leurs attractions. Ce qui me permets de cr\u00e9er moi-m\u00eame des forfaits pour des clients. Nous vendons principalement des voyages de luxe. Nos forfaits n’incluent donc que des h\u00f4tels de luxe et des transferts spectaculaires en h\u00e9licopt\u00e8re ou en hydravion. Tu peux donc imaginer que je r\u00eavasse plusiers fois par jours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sentiers Prives est un DMC. Alors nos clients sont des agences de voyages. Nous aidons les agences avec notre expertise locale. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 nous, ils peuvent offrir \u00e0 leurs clients des voyages sur mesure parfaits. En plus du travail quotidien,on fait aussi beaucoup d’autres choses amusantes. Comme par exemple des inspections de site. J’ai visit\u00e9 plusieurs h\u00f4tels \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (Le Ritz, Le Four Seasons, Le Fairmont, Le Mount-Stephen…). On va aussi \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents \u00e9v\u00e9nements touristiques. Ces soir\u00e9es servent principalement \u00e0 nouer de nouveaux contacts. De plus, il y a toujours des hors-d’oeuvre tr\u00e8s savoureux et des gadgets sympas, ce qui est toujours agr\u00e9able. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enfin, je te recommanderais \u00e0 vous tous d\u2019entreprendre un stage \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger. C’est vraiment une exp\u00e9rience formidable. Tu apprends \u00e0 \u00eatre ind\u00e9pendant. Tu pratiques tes langues \u00e9trang\u00e8res. Tu fais connaissance avec de nouveaux amis. Tu d\u00e9couvres un nouveau pays. En bref, tu fais des souvenirs pour la vie!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
